Sheffield University Equestrian Club

Welcome to The University Of Sheffield Equestrian Club

Sheffield University Equestrian Club (SUEC) is an established sports club with 3 teams that represent us in BUCS, as well as a thriving development squad offering both our less experienced members and those without the time to commit to BUCS the opportunity to train and compete against other universities. The vast majority of our members join as Leisure members, benefiting from regular lessons, trips, socials, volunteering and fundraising and other opportunities. We also provide beginner membership for those who want to learn to ride!

Welcome to SUEC! We are a thriving club at the university with a range of members. We have 3 successful BUCS teams, who train and compete throughout the year, with the year ending in a bang when we hope to beat Hallam for the 4th year in a row at Varsity! We also have a busy Development squad; this is for members who may have just missed out on BUCS teams, do not have the time to compete for BUCS or want to experience competing in a more relaxed environment. The majority of our club is made up of Leisure Members, who have regular lessons at a few different riding stables. We also have Beginner Members who have come across horses for the first time when joining the club. We also provide Polo lessons if you're looking for something a little bit different. Whether you are a complete beginner or compete nationally with your own horse, we have something for you! And incase you're wondering, no, you don't need your own horse!

We hold weekly socials, one of the most popular is a night out at the legendary ROAR! but if night outs aren't your thing, we regularly meet up for food, hold quizzes and this coming year we are going to have club trips to horse shows. We are a fun, active and friendly club and if you are looking for friends for life, we are the club for you!

The easiest and best way to join the club is to come and see us in Intro Week at the Sports Fair and sign up! This is the best way to join as you can meet some of the Committee in person and ask any burning questions you might have. Keep an eye on our Facebook page nearer the time to find out exactly where our stall will be. If you miss the Sports Fair, however, you are welcome to join online via the Sport Sheffield website: 1. Log in to your MUSE account. 2. In a new tab, open the Sport Sheffield website (click HERE). 3. Click on 'Club Sports' below the memberships heading. 4. Scroll until you reach 'Equestrian Club'. 5. Click equestrian and select the appropriate membership. 6. You will then be to a payment and confirmation page.

1) For everyone to enjoy their time being a member of SUEC 2) To increase inclusivity 3) To raise money for our chosen charities and to climb the 3 peaks by the end of the year. 4) For our 3 BUCS teams to get to regionals 5) For our Development squad members to have an enjoyable year and to gain as much experience as they can. If they won their leagues, that would be a massive bonus! 6) To increase awareness and support for SUEC around campus.

Training for the BUCS and Development Squads takes place on Wednesday afternoons. Training costs are included in the membership price which is paid at the start of the year.
