How To Join/Get Involved

We are a mixed gender team made up of all levels of experience, so if you're keen to try baseball, the Hornets are for you! Contact us either by email, Facebook or Twitter and we will let you know how you can join our team!

Aims For The Year Ahead

We have grown a lot in our last two years as a club, and would like to continue widening participation. Our regional league is evolving into the first ever National University Baseball League in 2016-2017 and we will be competing against a number of universities, such as Nottingham and Loughborough. We hope to organise friendlies with different teams from all over the North and bring another successful team to the National University Baseball Championships in the spring!

Training Times

Fridays 7-9, Fixtures on the weekends

Training Location

Goodwin Sports Centre upper hockey pitch, occasionally the Sheffield Indoor Cricket Centre for batting cages.

Training Location Post Code

Training Travel Details

Club Achievements

We have played many successful games against nearby teams such as Loughborough, Nottingham, Durham and Leeds. We travel annually to Loughborough for the M1 Series Tournament, where we came in 6th place in 2015-2016, and to Farnham Park for the National University Baseball Championships and hold our own against many long-standing clubs.

Events

We will be holding Give it a Go sessions for potential members at the beginning of the 2016-2017 semesters, where anyone can come try out baseball with no commitments, no experience or knowledge necessary! We hold many alcoholic and non-alcoholic socials throughout the year, in Sheffield and in other cities after Away games, as well as hosting our own awards night at the end of the year.
