Student Project Teams
Be part of our various student project teams that work closely with charities and organisations to make a difference to our local community whilst broadening your experience beyond Sports Participation.
Our projects are all coordinated in partnership with Sheffield Volunteering and enable you to develop various skills and experiences including:
- Project management
- Event planning
- Community liaison

Here are our currently project opportunities:
‘Do it for you’ team: Be part of a team which organises a mass sports day for Oncology and Haematology patients at Sheffield Children’s hospital. Providing children (2-16) undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment with fun sports and activities to build their confidence, try something new and adopt a healthy lifestyle. The project offers opportunities to do some outreach in the Children’s hospital as well as plan, prepare and deliver a fantastic large scale event.
‘Joints in Action’ team: Be part of a team which organises an activity day for Rheumatology patients from Sheffield Children’s hospital which aims to encourage them into or supports them back to an active lifestyle. This project offers opportunities to plan, prepare and deliver a complex sports event.
‘Burton Street’ Project team: Be part of a regular volunteering programme which supports a weekly sports session for adults and young people with both mental and physical disabilities.
OR/AND… Lead or support a team which organises the BSP’s annual Sports Day celebrating a year of sport for their organisation. This project allows you to work with the Burton Street Foundation to shape a sports event which takes in to consideration the needs and wants of the clients and plan, prepare and deliver a great event.
Sheffield Volunteering Sports Day team: Be part of a team which organises an annual sports day for various local Sheffield primary schools. Help plan, organise and deliver the sports day ensuring that all pupils have a quality, fun and fabulous experience.
